Don’t know San Andrés? We’ll bring you up to date. It is one of the longest uninhabited islands in the Caribbean and is about 800 km from the north coast of Colombia, in fact it is much closer to Nicaragua, only 220 km away. To enter the island you need to pay an “entrance fee” of $112,000 (in 2019) which is equivalent to about 5 euros. It is a tax on tourism that is theoretically intended to improve infrastructure on the island and social projects.
